Our Staff

St. John’s is fortunate to have such exceptional and experienced staff!

Our Executive Director, Celeste Low, has her M.A. in Early Childhood Special Education and has had many roles working with children since 1988; including roles as preschool director, infant/toddler lead teacher, a home visiting early interventionist,  Early Start Program Director, an infant development specialist in the neo-natal intensive care unit.  Her children, born in 2003 & 2006 attended St. John’s & still enjoy helping with the toddlers.

Our Program Director, Laurie Robinson, has her M.A. in Early Childhood Education and has been working with children from birth through preschool age since 1995. Her children, born in 2005 and 2010 also attended St. Johns.

Our staff exceeds the norms for longevity in childcare programs.  The state of California requires early childhood educators to have teacher permits.  These permits are given dependent on the number of Early Childhood Education (ECE) units taken.  The permits our teachers hold are Master Teacher, Teacher, Associate Teacher, and Assistant Teacher.  We staff each classroom with a combination of the above. All of our full-time staff are also certified in Infant, Child and Adult CPR and First Aid, and we renew our certificates every two years.
